Madamoiselle & farewell 2007

It's the last day of 2007. Within a few hours more, we are all going to enter the new year of 2008, a new year for new resolutions or probably refulfill the old ones that yet to be done someday :p.

So, What's your new resolutions? Mine? I'm not sure myself...hehehe...but I do know, 2008, will be a new challenge for my whole aspects of life, may it be work, love, life... whereas, 2007 had been both a wonderful year and sad on the same time. Sad because the plan for a marriage had confirmed been cancelled and I finally broke my relationship with my loved one. On the otherside, I get closer with more new friends and had few fun "adventures" with them, gets closer with my siblings and spent more time with them too, met someone who made me realize that I can fall in love with somebody else and get my life through even though that someone now became just a close friend *wink* and I appreciate that. Had challenges in work but managed to gone through it without any chaotic problems and many more. The best part of 2007 was, I get to be stronger facing all that I've been through compared to the years before. And I hope, I ll get even more stronger to face 2008 as a whole new "thing" will come up soon. I hope for the better and hopefully it turns out well.

Well, after writng these out, I think I know what my resolutions for 2008;

1) Always be optimistic
2) Ignore bad vibes @ people who tends to ruin ur lifes and those who underestimates you.
3) Clearing my Debts--> a never ending story..esp. my cards..waaa!!!
4) Self control --> in spending especially..hehehe
5) Needs more determination and stop procrastinating :p
6) Anger management, out of stress... 2007 had been a good one...need more in 2008 :)
7) Loose weight--> I really need to make it work someday hahaha...

I think that's it for the moment...can't think well now that I somehow feel tired. My siblings are in Empire now. I'm not joining them. And it's my dad's birthday, and we're not celebrating hehehe... Dad don't want any celebration this year. He hates surprises. But my Aunt's celebrating New Year at their homies and my parents are going and I'm not. This year, I just want a quite time at home and relax. This is the best moments where I can just relax, watch the tube, surf and again just relax. I had too much going on in my life for 2007, I'd just like to end 2007 with just nothing. :) Boring you might say but it's heaven for me..hahaha.

Anyway,
A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD.
SEMOGA DIPANJANGKAN UMUR,
DIMURAHKAN REZEKI,
SIHAT WALAFIAT
&
KEBAHAGIAAN HIDUP DUNIA DAN AKHIRAT.
AMIINNN!

Happy New Year Everyone! Buhbai!!

Went to Mummy Meow's Wedding ceremony today. The weather was fine, Sunny yet windy so it wasn't really a hot day. Mr & Mrs Meow wore purple just now. Mrs Meow definitely doesn't looked 'Meow'.hahaha...a big change after the makeups. Oh, I love the tents. Decorated in pink for ladies and Blue for the gents. It's a full package of catering with Tents from 'Nur Wanita Restaurant & Catering.'

Look at those pretty pink and blue decorated tents. I like!!

Well, anyway, nothing much happening today so I guess I'm off for now.

Madamoiselle & Holi-Day 19

I was awaken by a call on my mobile this morning and it was my boss....from work. It was only 9.15am and my boss woke me up on my holiday, just to ask a small lil' thing about work. I tried not to sound as if I'm still asleep so I pretend to sound all cheered up and answered "Hello boss, yes?" He laughed out loud and said "Alum lagi bangun kah? [Not awake yet?]. So much of pretending! hehehe... Anyway, I dozed off right after he we hung up, untill half an hour later, I had to wake up. I forgot that i need to go somewhere. hahaha! I slept late last nite at around 3am surfing the net and blog hopping. It's just too much, yeah?

Anyway, as promised, I'd like to post up the pics I'd snapped from my phone last nite. I thought the crowd were going to be lesser at NBT for the Christmas holiday snapshots as it was already over but I was wrong ,there were still lots of people there.

Every year, NBT has the best festive decors that sets everyone the mood for celebrating even when they're not celebrating. Kudos to NBT for making the place a memorable place to take some festive snapshots. I wish Jerudong Park would make it like this too for every festive season so as to bring back the crowd to JP. And of course, free please ...just like NBT does.

Santa left his boots for New Year!

Madamoiselle & holi-Day 17 & 18

Good Morning Everyone!

I am in the 'Keen-est' mode to blog early in the morning today. Early for me coz I never blog around this time ever. I am at home now, alone. The parents left to K.K this morning and I did not join them coz I wanted to attend 'Mummy Meow's' wedding this Sunday.Don't wanna miss that. They'll be in K.K for three days and be back by Sunday evening. Hoorey!! Yesterday, I had lunch with Mummy Meow. We ate at "Matadoe Cafe & Restaurant" in Beribi. I think I haven't been there for more than a year now.The place had been renovated and they extended the place already. It felt like being in K.L in one of those cafes. Love it.

I missed my fav.dish there - 'Chicken with Tom yam Sauce.' Absolutely nyummy. So of course I ordered that when I was there accompanied with an 'Ice Blended Mochachino' .. Sluurrrppss!! Mrs Meow had their 'Chicken Curry' and 'Ice blended Cappuccino'. And we also ordered their 'Jacket Potato' and shared. hehehe...The Chicken Curry was however a bit too spicy for Mrs Meow's taste but all the rest of the food were lovely.

Afternoon, head to the mall with my lil bro- Juan, Mummy, Poq sistah and my niece Syana to watch the 'National Treasures 2'. It was O.k. Not much of an excitement for me. I felt its dragging...the movie felt too long to end. All i can say, It's just okay. A boring review from moi..hehehe... Never been good in reviewing anyway. :p

Synopsis if the movie:
Treasure hunter Benjamin Franklin Gates (Nicolas Cage) once again sets out on an exhilarating, action-packed new global quest to unearth hidden history and treasures.When a missing page from the diary of John Wilkes Booth surfaces, Ben's great-great-grandfather is suddenly implicated as a key conspirator in Abraham Lincoln's death. Determined to prove his ancestor's innocence, Ben follows an international chain of clues that takes him on a chase from Paris to London and ultimately back to America.
Duration: 2hrs 05mins
Casts: Nicolas Cage, Diane Kruger, Ed Harris Helen Mirren, Justin Bartha

I gotta go. I'll blog again later. Lapar che!! heheheh...bye!

**Edited at 11.45pm **

I'm back! I've just got back from having dinner with my siblings. We had dinner at Bob Umie in 'Tamu Selera', Bandar, our favourite spot for reasonable-priced-yet-yummy Seafoods. We also went to the Snowy light showcase at NBT. Ill post some shots of it tomorrow.

In the meantime, I wanna say CONGRATS to Mr and Mrs Meow for their "Nikah Ceremony" today.

Wishing you a lifetime full of happy years, long on laughter, short on tears...enduring love...sweet dreams come true...lots of babies and a love filled wedded life.

Mr & Mrs Meow

It's late now. Post more tomorrow so till then, its 4 more days to work...Aaaaaaarrgh!! I'm so fond of having a holiday now...hehe...a sign of becoming a procrastinator! chiao!! :)

Madamoiselle & BONUS

Today is a day for Smiles.
Today is a day for Happiness.
Today, for sure is a day for Big Plans.
Today, is one of those days for Getting New Things.
Today, is the day for Big Feasts.
Today is also a day for Big Money$$$$
Today is however, the day for Long Queues.
And Today for better or worse, is the day for Jams/Packs/Crowded..you name it.. its everywhere!

WHY?

Every Bruniean knows the little answer...
Every Gov sector definitely has the answer.
and so does some Private sectors.

So Whats the Fuss??

BECAUSE TODAY IS "THE BONUS DAY".

It's Raining Money...Hallelujah! It's Raining Money....

So don't be surprise, there'll be less grumpy people for the next few days as "Shopping" will be on their top list. I wanted to say including me but then, my bonus has to go to somewhere else...WAaAAaaaaAaa! My poor baby is sick and needs major operation to the heart. Yeah, my poor baby CAR!! *Sobs*

The spare part for "IT" cost quite a fortune. Some says, it costs like you owned a BMW. And its true...I guess...for me that's for sure. A four digit is not a small money, doncha think? Four years of owning it and it finally gets a major "sickness" after massive abuse of maximum usage..hehehe...[the owner has a tendancy to move about too much in the past few years.] So far, it never got cheaper with my little repairs on my 'baby'. Its a $500 above and I'm crying ...ahahah...But I do love this baby. It may not be a Luxury expensive car but it sure does give a comfortable drive and totally smooth and spacious. And mine is Diesel so my average usage is just B$16 per week. That sure saves cost on my fuel! Imagine going from BSB to KB in full tank and return still in full tank..Love it yeah?!! Except for the bodykits that kept 'cracking off' in the streets of Brunei...thats just the only turn offs I get to get used to and now the expensive spareparts...speechless!

Speaking of which, I accidentally found out that it has a new 2008 model on the internet. Its has the same style but a bit slicker.

Nice, No? I like!! Waaaa.......

Owh! I'm off track already. Back to the bonus thingy, Yeah., there were long queues everywhere especially in Banks and ATMs. Heard that the long queue even starts at 6.30am this morning.Could you believe that? And the roads to Gadong were fully packed especially to The Mall. Boy! The eating outlets were one of the crowded places too. Went to the Mall Foodcourt for lunch and it was packed full of people, hungry merry people. The table's just weren't enough to cater everyone.And so does the service. All the foods came in slow coz there's just too many people ordering the food. I had my rice an hour later than everyone else on the table coz they ran out of RICE!! Can you imagine how many people were eating at the mall....

I couldn't help wanting to post the last cartoon. It's irresistible. That's not fussy. Just someone with an extraordinare tastebud...hehehe!!

Okay, Madamoiselle's signing off... A Happy Bonus Day Everybody. Spend wisely, Smile widely, and call me klau kan blanja hahahaha......

Buhbai!! Bonne Nuit! à bientôt!

Madamoiselle & my Pizza

Hoorey!!

Yeah, from the title itself, I'm blogging about my pizza I've just made. Here's how it looks like before putting it to the oven.

I can say, I liked it. Not because I made it but my tastebuds loves it. hahaha.. A lil' modifications and it'll be perfect. I tried to make a Honey Garlic Chicken Pizza like 'Pizzahut's pizza and it comes quite close...i think, in a different way. It's more like a Honey Garlic Oyster Chicken Pizza actually. It's a bit saltier coz I am out of Mozarella cheese so I replaced it with a shredded Cheddar cheese instead. The pizza base was very crispy on the ends, and the juice of the chicken oozes out of the crust. Love it.

Too bad the cheddar cheese doesn't melt perfectly like mozarella does.

2 plates served for my parents

To compliment with the pizza, I made mashed potato and also serves with the leftover BBQ Chix and made a Hot Chocolate, that I've started to crave lately.

My dinner plate, a bitten off pizza, my fav mashed potato and a piece of bbq chix with my hot Cocoa..had dinner on bed while surfing the net hahahaha...

Have a Good Nite Sleep peeps!! I'm off to snoreeee..Zzzzzz!!!

Madamoiselle & holi-Day 15

It's X'mas and It's also my resting day. Have been on bed, feeling all tired the whole day. I just feel so unproductive! I could not blog yesterday. I've been busy in the kitchen for the whole 12 hours, preparing food, preparing the house, the table, the dinner and finally the clean up. Why? We were expecting a group of relatives from K.K, [yes, Kota Kinabalu] to have dinner at home last night. Normally, they'd come in small groups of one or two family. This time however, I lost track coz I don't exactly know everyone. They were a lot! Around 30 of them I guess. Some I have met during few visit occasions , others came for the first time and It's like a get to know gathering for our family. Moreover, it's Christmas Eve, I guess the neighbors thought we're celebrating Christmas too ...hahaha..

The Living room.....

Anyway, We wanted to prepare a simple dish. We're still maid-free so we don't want to make too many complicating foods like before. Mom has the tendency to make too much varieties of food when we have big eating occasions but thats when there' s so many helpers. Since it's the only three of us in the house, making lots of food is impossible. So we decided to make these;

The Food ......

Red Honey Ovenbaked Chicken

Black Pepper Beef

Tray of "Ulams" and "Sambal Belacan"

mom's Local Veggie ~ "Tarap"

The Cute bubbly "Longan Puding" for dessert.

Watermelons for a mouthwash.

I love the longan puddings. A colleague made that before and brought it to the office. I love it instantly coz I just love longans. So I made it for dinner and it was also a big hit. It disappeared in just a few minutes.Oh well, It became a starter rather than a dessert. hahaha...

Right now, I'm hungry for a light snack. I think I want to make a pizza since I have a left over plain BBQ chicken and a pizza base that's been sitting in the fridge ready for cooking. Never tried making one, and this is an experiment hehhe.... I 'll let you know if its successful.

Till then , I've got a week more before going back to work...waaa!!! i want more holidays...
Au revoir!

Madamoiselle & holi-Day 13

I just had dinner at the Jerudong Park Food Centre with my parents. There were still lots of people flocking to the 'Jerudong Park Garden' for the Light Festival. A good sign showing "JP" is still alive and kicking. I could see more restaurants are open at the food centre too. Not as much as it used to be but they had liven up the place much better and for once "JP" is not a haunted luxury playground anymore. I Like! :)

We had dinner at Pinang Restaurant. It had moved from its original place to a much closer area to Kuliq Restaurant. They now have steamboats and fresh Seafoods, & new facelift for their restaurant. They used to be famous for their sizzling foods and I love their food. Hadn't failed my tastebuds so far. Though the service was a bit slow, still our dinner was fine.

My Lemon lime juice

Corn soup.. nice one!

Kailan in oyster sauce... tasty!

Steamed Fish Chinese style ... nyamanz!

Anyway, last nite, I had dinner with a friend. We met at 'Taurean Cafe' at The Arch. It was around 8pm and it was raining so there weren't anyone yet except for us. We had the place all by ourselves, updating current affairs, about friends, office, the future..haha! untill almost an hour later , people started to come in and the place gets noisier. I hadn't been to Any branch of the Taurean Cafe for quite sometime and I missed my favourite ol' time drink ...which is "The Bull". Still tasted and looked absolutely the same.I love! The place though, felt like we're not in Brunei, there were decors of christmas and waiters wearing santa's hats were seen like little elves moving around doing their jobs.hehehe!

Owh! I think i need to go. There's an interesting Japanese movie on the tube and it's been distracting me from blogging from the start. It's about a life of a guy who's married to a witch...it's like a Japs version of Sabrina The witch, and they are celebrating christmas" and all and its funny. Better effects too! Let me see the title is "Okusama wa molo" whatever that means. One thing is funny is that, only those who believes in Santa can see him..so its funny when one was talking to santa and another thought that he's crazy talking with no one..in japs style hahaha! you know how hilarious it is when a Japs reacted...to anything! Mcm cartoon bah!

Okay, that's it for now. Till then, it's 8 more days of work Hiatus. Buhbai!

Madamoiselle & holi-Day 11

Have nothing much to do today. Just the normal chores and my cooking. Dad loves soupy dishes. And it runs in the family. So I made "Fish soup" for lunch just now and it tasted a slight hint of a clear Thai soup.

I made these too. It's "Sambal Terung" [ Fried Brinjal in Shrimp paste .. correct me if i'm wrong]. The Shrimp paste was absolutely nice.. {Wah angkat bakul kajap hehehe...}. I also made Fried crispy chicken but didn't manage to take a pic out of it. A simple lunch for 3 and still it was a great one.

Anyway, It's raining outside. A very cold weather for a Friday. It reminds me of the cold rainy weather far far away. Oh, the memories... Though the time was short, it was a time I'd never forget.

The day is cold, and dark, and dreary;
It rains, and the wind is never weary;
The vine still clings to the moldering wall,
But at every gust the dead leaves fall,
And the day is dark and dreary.

My life is cold, and dark, and dreary;
It rains, and the wind is never weary;
My thoughts still cling to the moldering Past,
But the hopes of youth fall thick in the blast
And the days are dark and dreary.

Be still, sad heart! and cease repining;
Behind the clouds is the sun still shining;
Thy fate is the common fate of all,
Into each life some rain must fall,
Some days must be dark and dreary.

~The Rainy Day by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow~

It's 11 more days of hiatus. Till then, will blog again tomorrow! bye!

Madamoiselle & Holi-Day 10

Its Eid-ul-Adha today.

It's also Granny's birthday!

My dad's siblings and all my cousins came to granny's house for a birthday celebration and also for the Hari Raya Aidiladha. I managed to make something to bring to granny's house. A last minute baking which is cupcakes. I know, it's not traditional making cupcakes especially for Hari Raya Aidiladha, it's just that i'm craving for it lately so i just make it lah. It's not a perfect frosted cupcakes but just a nice one, still edible to eat...hehehe.. i still need practice with the frosting. I love the cupcake itself..not like the other day i made with my nieces.

The Naked Cuppies

The makeover of the cuppies.

The final touch up of the cuppies.

It was a bit hard frosting the cuppies as I reduced the amount of icing sugar. I don't want it to be too sweet. But Overall, I like this one, just a bit creamier, I guess I need to modify the frosting again next time.

Oh well, it's been almost two weeks of holiday and i have 12 more days of work-hiatus. Time flies too fast, I wish for another long holiday waaaa!!!
