It’s better to have Loved and lost than to have never been loved coz being in love is the happiest moment one could get.

Madamoiselle & Holi-Day 8

Oh, I skipped blogging for a day coz I was undoubtedly too tired yesterday. 3 days of handling 3 of my nieces, I finally felt how it felt like being a mom of 3 kids. Waaaa!! Tired! Teeheee... it was fun though but I just got used to having ample time alone.

This morning, the kids just won't stop nagging me to make cupcakes. Today was their last day for sleep over and I had to send them at 2pm. I was already losing a quarter of my energy doing the house chores in the morning but I couldn't turn them down seeing their begging sad faces. Therefore,We had another baking session and made some mini cupcakes. Last nite, I came across a new recipe of cupcakes with simpler ingredients than i had before so today we tried that new cupcake recipe. It was a chocolate cupcake but the problem is I'm out of Cocoa after making the brownies the other day and my Vanilla essence had run out too. I replaced it with Strawberry essence instead so we're baking a Mini Pink Strawberry Cupcake today. I prefer my previous cuppy better compared with this new one coz the batter of this new recipe was a bit spongy like and the looks was not nice. We made pink buttercream frosting and I just put a lil' frosting on each cuppies coz I don't want my nieces to eat too much of sugar. Packed the cuppies into a container for them to bring home and they were utterly happy.

The kiddos starting their decors.

Lil' pweencess decoring her cuppies for mommy.

I just got back from sending them off to their homies. Their mommies were so worried I would never send them back..hahaha... They're just not used to being alone at home without the kids. To unwind my tiredness after dropping them off, I took my sister- Oleev, to watch " The Warlords" at the Empire Cinema.

We took the 3pm show and only 6 movie goers were in the cinema. Kewl.... The movie was a good one, something like 300 but a story of 3 brotherhoods, their pledge, their loyalties, and betrayal amongst themselves. I love Takeshi *drools*. He's the first Japs that I liked long ago and he hasn't changed and I still like him :)

Anyway, there were lots of slaughtering, bone cracking and cute Takeshi...hahaha... He's the most loyal one amongst the brothers and I hate the greedy one...you'll know who when you watch it. In the end, greediness leads to a total loss and because of one greed, all were gone to waste.. Kesian eh... Overall verdict for this movie is 8 out of 10.

Synopsis of the movie:

The film is set in the 1860s, during the Taiping Rebellion in the late Qing Dynasty in China. The story, based on an unresolved crime, tells of three sworn brothers (played by Andy Lau, Jet Li and Takeshi Kaneshiro) who turn on one another over a beautiful woman (Xu Jinglei).

Time : 2hrs 05mins
Main casts : Andy Lau, Takeshi Kaneshiro, Jet Li

Finally, I bought two 'pumps' today..luv it.. yipeee... It made my feet smaller hahaha...Nope, no pics of it. Saja kan show-off ...buleh aku ah..buang boringZzzzz!!!

Okay, more post tomorrow...if there's any..hehe.... Till then it's 14 days of hiatus...Tick!Tock! Time is ticking...

Madamoiselle & Holi-day 6

Okay, I can't be bothered to make a long post today. I'm truly truly out of energy. My 3 nieces, stayed over at home and I've been baby siting them as they wanted to sleep over at their granny's house here.

Just now, they requested to make cupcakes. I told them if we have extra time, we'll bake cupcakes but for the moment, I had promised mom to bake some brownies for my cousin's occasion tomorrow. She's having an engagement and I wanted to bake brownies for the dessert. So with the help of my part time helpers [my nieces], we had a baking session in the afternoon and they were very much, a helper in wiping off the chocolate batter from the bowl before it was sent to bake!! The smell of chocolate tempted them too much and were eager to eat the left overs from the mixer bowl. We did not make the cupcakes though. Time was limited.

My Chocolate Fudge Almond Brownies cut into half the normal size for easy munching.

My normal size of brownie. The best part of this brownie is the non too sweet taste and the secret taste of applesauce.

After baking session, i had to get them ready for a small birthday party at my cousin's house for the evening. Dad planned to bring his grankids to Jerudong Park after the party but ended up just going round the place. Why? There were lots of people and the parking space were full... and it was already 10.30pm yet no parking were to be found. It was a big surprise as the scenery was rare these days to see lots of people going to the park. Just like the old days. An applaud for the organizers. It's a pity, the once glorious free park of Brunei had become a haunted quite place for so many years and now, the crowd came back. We managed to see the lil'dinosaur and Eiffel tower and the mosque as we passed by. Really cool. They should have a fun fair in the park...that'll be more fun to do. Oh what am i talking about here? Its the "Dazzling Lights Festival" held in Jerudong Park Garden from 15th Dec'07 till 6th Jan 2008. Just go ahead there...and don't forget to bring your cameras...Lots of pics to take with. I wished we'd gone in just now. Sigh!

Hey, I thought of making a short post only but ended typing a lot here...hehehe.. Well, aam blogging in the dark till then its 16 days of hiatus...noooooo!!! I need more time...

Madamoiselle & Holi-Day 5

Tired!!!!.... 5 days of holiday, and all I can say is......'TIRED'. I thought, I took this holiday for a relaxing time at home, doing nothing, just surfing and blog-hoping, doing my own thingy and occupied myself with boredom. But noooo...it's always something to do...something happening. Life...you can't plan what you wanna do with it. There's always something coming through within. hmmm....

Anyway last nite, I slept late. While everyone else were asleep, me and my youngest bro ~ 'Juan' stayed up till 2.30 am, Surfing in the dark on each laptops, pigging out with the left over cake, slump off at the couch, making soft quite dumb jokes and trying not to make too much noise of laughter, over my bro's poisonous farts and watching the ol' toons of "South Park". Pathetic! hehehe...

Then this morning , however, planned on waking up late but was awoken by the noisiness of the nieces and siblings, all had awoken by 8.30 am. The nieces were excited as they got ready for an early splash at the swimming pool while the siblings waited for the next queue of "Who's gonna get to the bathroom first?". By 10.30 am, everyone were ready, the kids were back from the pool, all cleaned up and felt the excruciating pain of hunger. No breakfast yet so far so went to the foodcourt and had a heavy brunch. It's been quite a while that i had not been to the mall so I was surprise with the blooming of mini shops near the foodcourt and made few mini purchases that ran my purse dry. We decided to browse a few more shops and then decided to watch the movie with the nieces. The play was Alvin & the Chipmunks and the seats were almost full. The only seats left were 3 rows upfront and we hate sitting too near the screen so decided to book at the Kiulap mall instead for a 2pm show. Since it was midday, we got back to the room and left half an hour earlier from showtime to Kiulap cineplex. We were on the fifth row from the back meaning only a quarter of the room were filled.

As for the movie, it was fun for the kids, and I missed watching the cartoon long time ago. It was indeed a childhood flashback, even though it was an animated chipmunk [which is so cute] but their voice was so like the chipmunk I knew so many years ago. Theadore was the cutest, so bubbly and the sweetest lil' thing. Though the movie was pretty much okay, it brought back the nostalgic moments of the earlier toons we had during our era of childhood. I just love their rhythmic voices and their songs. Overall verdict for this movie is 8 out of 10 coz it's my ol' time favourite cartoon.

Synopsis of the movie:

Based on the 1980s cartoon series about a music group of chipmunks comprised of mischievous group leader Alvin (Ross Bagdasarian Jr.); the tall and quiet Simon (Matthew Gray Gubler); and chubby, impressionable Theodore (Jesse McCartney). The three chipmunk brothers are adopted by a songwriter named Dave (Jason Lee) and with his help, the Chipmunks skyrocket to musical fame. However, in comes scheming greedy agent Ian (David Cross). He tries to lure the Chipmunks away from their concerned father figure, Dave, with the promise of fun, fortune and fame. Will they fall for Ian's villainous plans or stay loyal to trusty Dave?

Okay, Till then its 17 days of hiatus. Time is ticking.....

Madamoiselle & Holi-day 4

Had just got back from the movies. Watched 'I am Legend' with the siblings and I've gone "mental" nya org. Aaargh!! The movie was actually, alright, if you like that kind of story.. well , not so much for me. I feel tense. It's the same feeling when I watched '28 weeks later', only this time it's Will Smith, I love it when he acts so i like this one a bit better than '28 weeks later'. The sad part of the story, was his loneliness, and his loss on Samantha and of course, his sacrifice of his life. Okay, I've talked too much. You'd better watched it yourself. It's a good one to watch but tense. I'd give it an overall a 7.5 out of 10. And it's because Will Smith is really a very good actor.

Synopsis of the movie :

Robert Neville (Will Smith) is a brilliant scientist, but even he could not contain the terrible virus that was unstoppable, incurable...and manmade.
Somehow immune, Neville is now the last human survivor in what is left of New York City...and maybe the world. But he is not alone. He is surrounded by "the Infected", victims of the plague who have mutated into carnivorous beings who can only exist in the dark, and who will devour or infect anyone or anything in their path.

Other than watching a movie, I am at the moment having a sleep over at Rizqun...hehehe. Erra's mommy booked a room so all of us siblings, crammed in for a sleep over. A full house it is but it's fun. We had a small celebration just now for Erra...a cake eating session for Erra's birthday in the room. Oh by the way, I finally made the cake last nite. Despite of my tiredness, I finally managed to make one. Though, there's just so many things happening while making it. It didn't t turn out as it supposed to be. Yeah, I wanted to make it red but end up giving it a blue. I'll make a red one for mommy's birthday next month then. The cake however, although tasted just fine, but the icing was a wee bit too sweet. Had put in a lil too much on the icing sugar, sorry sis, I'll tone down the sugar next time. I was not focused when making the cake. haha... One more thing, the cake was supposed to read " Happy Bday Erra" somehow after finish making it, it seems like it says " Happy Day Berra" ..Really!! Never make a cake when you feel sleepy & tired. Whatever you do won't turn out right. I'm fortunate that the cake is still a bit presentable and edible. :p

Birthday girl on cutting cake..sorry, forgot to bring in the candles!

See the toblerone melts in the cake

We had dinner at KJ restaurant just across the mall. We had always loved the 'Assam Pedas Fish' there so we went there to satisfy our craves. Nyamaannzzz.....

It's late now. I gotta sleep. Till then, it's 18 more days of hiatus. Au revoir!

Madamoiselle & Holi-Day 3

Guess what i did last nite?

hahaha...I've made this out of boredom, well, out of hunger too! Had seen the recipe few days ago and I just need to try it. It was a bit burned but thats how i like my Roti Canai is, dry and brownish. Okay mine has black spots on it. hmmm....

The second attempt was much better. I manage to stop having it burnt too much. Tell you this, making the dough was easy. But trying to roll it out and make it fly like the indians do, was a hell of a job. I couldn't do it no matter how many times i've tried. I guess I was never good in tossing off food then. So what I did was just press in the dough till it became quite thin and put it into a hot flat pan. Does it taste like the real Roti Canai? Almost, except that its a bit thicker than its supposed to be and it needs to be more crispier. But i still enjoy it since the taste is still there. :)

Anyhow, today was another tiring day. I think, it's a routine these 3 days to wake up at 9 and a knock on the door by mom, telling to get ready for another hospital visit. This time, we're told that the doctor needs to see my dad's siblings for a briefing regarding my grans health status. When we got to the hospital, the nurse told that the meeting will be held at 2pm. That made a small fuss out of my dad, aunts and uncles coz they should have told that earlier before everyone came! Half of 'em went back to the office while the other half stayed and accompanied granny.

By midday, went to "Soto Bunut" at kiulap for a Soto buffet lunch. Nyummy! Hadn't been there for quite a while. Then at two, the elderlies went for the briefing while i waited with grans on her bed. About half an hour later, The meeting was over and good news, granny was able to go back home till further notice and further action. yey! Grans was indeed happy. She was quite worried with what she has gone through and the fight has just started. Oh, i kept on talking about my grans in the hospital but didn't mention why she's there. Grans has cancer, we all recently discovered. I don't really know the english word for it but it's "kanser Rahim' in malay. Its on it's first stage but still it worries everyone. Hopefully, she gets through all this well.

We got back home by four this afternoon and i was already tired. I've made a couple of this for a munch.

Just a simple fill for the tummy. My parents loves garlic bread for breakfast or teatime and so do i. It goes perfect with just hot tea.

Okay, i need a rest. A rest before my next baking session for Erra's bday. Boy! I feel lazy already, but i've made a promised to the others that i'll make one for erra. Oh well, I have to keep my promise. :p

Till then, It's 19 more days for my hiatus. Will blog again soon.

Madamosielle & my holi-Day 2

I just woke up from my 'beauty-nap' and I'm feeling whooaaahhh....tired! It's almost 6pm now and I'm thinking of making something edible afterwards.

This morning, I was awoken by a knock at the door and it was only Nine! Hey, for someone on a holiday, that was an early time to wake up! Especially when I was having late night sleeps. Anyway, Mom told me to get ready to go to the hospital coz granny was having her 'endoscopy' or something today. Waa!! I thought it was not confirmed so I thought we will be visiting her in the afternoon and so I thought I had other plans for today. Too much thoughts there..Sigh! So off we went to the hospital and granny was already in the O.T as we were a wee bit late. The rest of my uncles and aunts were at the hospital's canteen having tea and we joined them since it may take time for granny to be out of the O.T. I ate breakfast there...sooo, so hungry.

At almost midday, Grans was done and was sent to the ward. She was still unconscious. Everyone got hungry by noon and we had lunch at "Aminah Arif Restaurant" and had "Ambuyats'. Sorry no pics though... was too busy stuffing food to the tummy..hahaha.. It was fun having lunch with a quarter of dad's siblings. It's not always we sit down having lunch together this lot.

After lunch, we all headed back to the hospital and waited for granny to wake up. She finally did at around 2-ish and by then, i was already sleepy and tired. You know how it is in hospitals. Limited seats, nothing to see, a long wait thus becomes tired.

And oh, I met my ol' mutual fren again. I finally had the opportunity to talk with her. And i finally, asked what's with her bandage thingy. She had a small mishap in her house and had slit her veins [on the hand] by a glass accidentally. Eeuwghh!! I was freaking shocked with that. Her veins were "stapled" [what? not stitched? errr... what do you mean by "staple"??] as she had told me and she couldn't move her fingers to her elbow. That is scary..veins cut off ...waaaaa!!!! It's been a month and she haven't recovered... uh..Scarryyy!

By the way, today is my niece's Birthday...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ERRA!!

Boy! She's not a kid anymore... nine yrs old and i still think she's still 5 hahaha..they sure grew so fast. Anytime, she'll be a teenage then. Her mommy wants to celebrate her birthday belatedly on this Thursday night. I 've already made plans to have another cake baking project. Haven't decided much on how the cake is going to be. They say she likes Blue but i wanted to make a different colour..Red! Why??? coz I wanted to make a heart shape cake and it's nice if i colour it red. A red-hearty cake. I don't want to make another blue cake coz i did that already. Well, we'll see...how it'll goes. I'll sure to post it here when I'm done.

In the meantime, I need to go to the kitchen. There's something in mind that i wanted to make tonight. Another first try recipe i wanted to experiment on. Hope it's gonna be what it supposed to be.

Till then, It's 20 more days of work-hiatus.. I'm off to the kitchen!!

**Edited on 13th Dec 2007**

Gosh! I'm a terrible aunt. Erra was not turning 9 but 11 instead. How cud i miss that. She's 11 yrs old already and i tot she was turning 9. hahha..See! I still see her that small of a kid! My other niece was the one who's 9 yrs old. Goodness me... I just have 4 nieces so far yet couldn't keep track of their ages. I wonder if I can't remember my own kids age one day...that's a nightmare. Bad mommy!! bad, bad mommy!! :0

Madamoiselle & my Holi-Day 1.

My first day of holiday....at home.. yipee!! Finally, I am off from work till new year. Suka ku eh! This is my first time ever taking a really long break and I'm somewhere in the clouds already ..hahaha. Nope! no plans of going anywhere, just stay at home and have my own leisure time. In my dreams...well, my worries came to reality... i was already booked by my parents with their schedules. Everytime i had a break, they already had plans and tagged me along. Waaaaa!!! Hope they won't drag me the whole three weeks. I really need my own time to unwind.

Anyway, What have i spend on my 1st day of 'work-freedom'?

First thing in mind was to wake up late! But I was too conscious. Since the maids had gone back to their homeland last two weeks, I was super duper conscious of the house chores that needs to be done. I don't wanna be labeled the princess of the house and get mocked by my own parents so I somehow, woke up at 9am and did my laundry {whoaahh!!} . My room was a mess, but I'll leave it for tomorrow. I voluntarily cooked for lunch and glad my parents liked 'em. { They are picky with food...very hard to please}. Then afternoon, mom tagged me along for window shopping but end up, me, shopping for my baking utensils. A craze i had lately since my love for bake and cook. I had $50 flew of my pocket for that. Then pick up dad at his office and had high tea at 'Aneka Rasa Restaurant' for "Cakoi" and "Keropok Lekor"..nyum..nyum!! Then, went to the hospital to visit my granny and met an ol' mutual friend from high school. She looked the same, haven't changed much except for the bandage she had on her hand. *lol.* Didn't even asked her why, just smiled coz i was freakin' shy..hahaha... duh! Back at home, I finally had my time... surfing the net...blog hopping and now blogging my way. Dull... yeah?

Time flies and i have 21 days of work-related-hiatus. hehe.. Till then, will try to update my boring life tomorrow.

Madamoiselle & more food.

Ghee!!!

After reading my previous posts, I've noticed that my blog has somehow unintentionally turned into a food blog... I've been talking about food much more than anything else lately . Guess my life's turning to a different direction now. Well for sure, I don't hang out much nowadays and I spent most of my leisure time, surfing or cooking something, otherwise, going to a movie.[which I had missed doing that this whole week!] But no worry folks, this is my personal blog and what I write in here, are mainly my walk of life, my adventure, through what i see, what i ate, and what i do. Whatever!!!

Anyway, Talking about food, I was bored today so I made another dish for tomorrow's morning munch at the office. Not much though. I planned to go and get the SupaSave BBQ chicken again tomorrow and so made a side dish to get along with that. So just now, I had prepared an easy-peasy cold starter for tomorrow's menu, that is my Mini Cold Chicken Mashed Potato & Corn Salsa.

I love the sight of it. Hopefully, my friends will enjoy it.

My tray of cold starters.

Madamoiselle &

:: Food Talk ::

I've made this two days ago but hadn't got time to post about it. We've been a hungry lot every morning in the office lately and I felt like bringing something for breakfast once in a while. I know it's not even a proper morning breakfast but i wanted to make a simple dish yet tummy filling. I wanted to make "Fried Macaroni" but I've made up my mind and made "Macaroni Salad" instead.

Making this is very simple. The ingredients are up to you to add but I like my Macaroni Salad this way. If you'd like to try this dish, Here's what you need:

Ingredients.
  • Any Macaronis (i like to used the Twisted macaroni) - Boil till cook
  • Green Apples - Cut into dices
  • Sausages- cut into small pieces and boil in water for a short time(either way).
  • Boneless Chicken - Boil in water with a lil' salt, when cook, shred to small pieces.
  • Mayonaise
  • Sweet condensed milk.
Method

Mix all ingredients together. Portion of the ingredients are up to your taste. If you like it sweet, add more condensed milk. Top it up with shreded cheddar cheese. You can also add pineapples or raisins for more fruitty taste. I prefer green apples only :)

Madamoiselle & Bday Surprise pt II

I am tired and exhausted. It's been a whole day of fun today, making surprises and embarrassment to the birthday 'boy'. We're lucky that 'Alai' aka the birthday guy came a bit late. He was bringing some food as a treat to all of us so it took time for him to come to the office. By then everyone were ready to see his reaction for the big surprise we made for him.

The first one was his office space. We had decorated it with Christmas ornaments. It's almost Christmas now so decorations are cheap. This was what had become to his office space.

Then we had the birthday breakfast treat and surprised him with the birthday cake I've made.

looked like a cake advert!! hehehe...

Initially, this is what the cake supposed to look like.

The side view of the cake.

Then because of a lil' mishap, I smudge one part of the cake when i tried to close it with the cake cover and crimpled the cake on one side. I had to think quick and try to modify the decor and this was what i had 'pimped' on my cake.

Though the cake was a bit loopsided, it looked as if it was meant to be that way hehehe..

The line of chocolate chips.

I'm glad my friends love the cake. The chocolate cake blends well with the cream cheese frosting and had several good remarks with the taste and of course, the looks. I am the very the "kambang" trus..hahaha... My first cake was a success despite my huge problem with spreading the cream cheese frosting. The cake, looked like a "Kek Hantaran", as they've told me. Woohooo..that's just too much. Anyway, as for the taste, its very 'chocolate-ty' as I've mentioned before, and the sweetness was mild. The birthday boy himself was a fussy eater but glad he loved my cake. He finished up the left over cake, he just told me. Waaa... that's a big compliment my friend..hehehe... glad you liked it.

Anyhow, the last surprise we did for 'Alai' was to decorate his car. Unfortunately, he did not bring his own car today but his sister's instead. We had to go ahead with the plan but had difficulty decorating it as it was a very windy day and it blew of the rolls of tissue paper real hard. So it became this messy thinggy on the car like a worn out mummified car with black balloons and coloured flags. Teeheee!

In the end, I'm glad that our birthday guy was overall, a happy bloke on his special day. no hard feelings lad...

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU ALAI.
MAY ALL YOUR WISHES COMES TRUE.
MAY HAPPINESS BE WITH YOU ALWAYS"

Madamoiselle & Bday surprise

A close friend's birthday falls tomorrow and my colleagues and I had made some surprising plans for him. Somehow, the surprise seems like we're celebrating an April fool instead of a Birthday celebration. I just can't wait to see how he'll react. Well, I'll post about it tomorrow.

In the meantime, i had prepared a homemade birthday cake and it's my first try of making one. I can say, it's 90% of success for an amateur. Baking the cake was not a big problem but decorating it was hugely difficult for me. I had made a Toblerone Chocolate Almond cake with Cream cheese Frosting. I think my frosting is quite soft, i had a hard time frosting the cake. It took me hours to frost it then chill it in the fridge then frost it again , chill again, then decor it. I hope it'll taste good as how it looked like. My friends likes blue so i had frosted it with blue.To make the decor, i made chocalate decors and also silver balls. I meant to make it a guyish cake but it somehow turns out to be a bit girlish ...haha.. it's like a princess cake in a way..But still, i think i'm liking it. The recipe for the cake, i took it from Jamie Oliver's show i saw last year. He made the chocolate cake with pieces of chocolate bars and it was yummy.I 've tried it before and so i wanna make it again. This time, however, i had changed the chocolate bars to Toblerone chocolates and added a few chocolate chips. Just to make it more 'chocolate-ty'. I can't wait to taste it tomorrow. hehehe... gotta go...I'll blog again tomorrow, yeah with pics of course.

Madamoiselle & November B'day celebs

Hooray! Had a small birthday celebration for the November big babies..hahaha. Both my Sis & I had a small treat for the family at the Andaman restaurant and it was fun as we had the function room privately for us. We had buffets and we had karaoke and we are so the very "Syiok Sendiri" singing without any shame coz its only us. [Buat sja macam rumah sendiri]. Nasib baik the waiters were not in the room during the function. We were really on our own and we rock...Duh! The karaoke session was lousy...actually the singers were lousy aka US, their karaoke were superb. Lots of songs to choose and we had Scores! Oleev and her friend, scored a full hundred singing "I will Survive" despite their stinging-in-the-ear pitch voice..har!har!har! [kes jeles kah tu?]

As for the buffet, just look at those food we had. Everyone was totally full by the end of the occasion. It's a $15 per head buffet and was satisfying for the tummies. Not in the pic, was the 'Soto' and also 'Fruit Salad' which is part of the buffet.

That's 'Kerabu Telor' @ Egg salad {luruskah tu?}

Steamed Rice, Hot Rain Rice[..hehe direct translation che!] Ayam Kurma & Lamb stew

Assam Pedas Fish, Beef ?, Sayur Lodeh

Assorted Cakes

The Food and Drinks Setting
